Mountain Blues

This lacy, airy shawl is inspired by a range of mountain tops in the distance, appearing blueish gray on a hot, damp summer day. Others may see grey fir trees in it, tightly packed along the mountain side. This wrap is just right for a little extra warmth and complements jeans and T-shirt just as well as a formal outfit. Originally knit in variegated sock yarn, the shawl looks good in any heavy lace or fingering weight yarn. Choose wool for your warm, everyday shawl, and luscious silk or cashmere for extra elegance.

This pattern provides the instructions in written form as well as two charts. You find the charts at the end of the document. The shawl is shaped like an inversed U or a Russian/Greek letter Π.

Measurements after (vigorous) blocking: 100cm by 85cm. Depending on the yarn you picked, your shawl may block out larger or smaller. The given size provides generous coverage for a women’s size M.

The pattern has been test knit.
